As an educator, I do not use web authoring much in the classroom. Our district this year is recommending each teacher to have a website for their classroom. I think that is an awesome idea because when students are absent from school, they can locate their teacher’s website to resume for their missed assignment.

Integrating spreadsheets into the classroom is an excellent tool for organization. I incorporate spreadsheets into my classroom to create charts and graphs for students to see their academic performance skills. I also use spreadsheets to determine students’ weakness and strengths in the classroom. It is an excellent tool for me to stay organize and on track of all my students.

How can you make students “think outside the box”? Creating databases in the classroom help students to think critically and analytically. Assisting students in creating a database can enhance their learning capabilities. I think allowing students to create database in the classroom is an excellent tool for learning and they can become more receptive to higher order thinking questions.

Students are responsive more when they use graphic organizers. Graphic organizers help students to communicate more effectively. In English, students use cluster web and spider diagrams to help assist with developing ideas. Students can brainstorm and write freely when they are exposed to visual instructions.

Digital cameras are very popular, especially in the classroom settings. When using digital cameras, pictures are available, saved in graphic format, and students can transfer the pictures to the computer. Students enjoy taking pictures and they will become more involved in the subject if they are allowed to take pictures and publish their pictures in the classroom.

Word Processing is an excellent tool for students. It allows students to type research papers and reports for school. It also allows them to check spelling and grammar along with using a dictionary/thesaurus if necessary. For teachers, it allows you to type letters to parents, worksheets, tests, syllabus, and any other printed based material. Word processing is a powerful tool for writing
